DCX Chrome, a global leader in high purity aluminothermic chromium metal and specialized chromium powders, today announced the execution of a definitive Joint Venture Agreement with Vishnu Chemicals Limited (VCL), one of India's leading specialty chemical manufacturers, to establish a new greenfield chromium metal production facility in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. The two partners will each hold a 50% ownership stake in the joint venture company, which will be consolidated by Delachaux Group.
The new facility is planned with an installed production capacity of 6,000 metric tons per annum of high-purity chromium metal. The project will combine DCX Chrome's proprietary metallurgical know-how and decades of operational expertise with Vishnu Chemicals integrated raw material capabilities and strong industrial footprint in India.
This partnership brings together two highly complementary organizations. DCX Chrome contributes its advanced aluminothermic technology, product development expertise, strict quality standards, and longstanding relationships with leading industrial customers worldwide, while Vishnu Chemicals contributes extensive chromium chemistry expertise, operational excellence, and a very strong position within the chromium value chain.
